Disappointment at reduced West Ham away allocations

|

away_fansWest Ham supporters have questioned the club’s policy about taking reduced allocation for away games against Everton, Manchester City and Stoke City.

Demand for West Ham away tickets has been at an all-time high this season with the majority of games selling out to season ticket holders with a large number of priority points.

Casual away day trippers complain they have been frozen out of the system as the away day allocations often sell out before reaching those with single digit priority points.

Despite this demand, the club has taken the decision to take reduced allocation for upcoming away matches. West Ham took an allocation from Everton of 1,777 from a possible 3,000 selling out to those with one priority point or above.

For Manchester City, they have taken a reported 1,600 from maximum 3,000 quickly selling out to those with 13 priority points or above.  For Stoke City, the Hammers have taken a reduced allocation of 2,400 from a maximum 3,o00 with the tickets going on sale on Monday. Liverpool recently received an allocation of 3,240 for their Premier League trip to Stoke.

Away game allocations this season:

Manchester United  3,000 allocation   Sold out to season ticket holders with 3 or more priority points

The Manchester City allocation in particular is laughable.Whover is responsible for asking for these allocations is letting West Ham supporters down badly.

I’m fuming about the city game. one of the few I’d expected to get access to a ticket with only 7 points. Clearly someone hugely underestimated the demand for that particular game, but are the club going back to request the additional tickets? What is the logic behind tkaing this reduced allocations?

whats worse is that a secondary (illegal) market has opened up. those with the points buy tickets even when they dont intend to go and sell on.

It’s a complete closed shop now, how is a fan even supposed to start earning points if that can’t even attend the less attractive games far away?!

Another example of the club not putting the supporters first ? its run like a corner shop wouldn’t be surprised to find out they had taken bungs for reducing the away support.

desperate to get to away games ,disapponted to here whats going on i have 4pts unless i buy an away season ticket never going to see the irons with the points i have ,that figure will never fall below that totaaly agree you rblack 66 closed shop..

The issue is the fact that the points system (& the selling on of tickets) as it stands allows many people who do not even attend home games (due to a dislike of the new sradium etc etc) to keep up their points totals & take up the allocation for the handful of games the choose to attend (Within M25) although, saying that, i’ve no idea how to solve the issue so guess I’m stuck behind these “fans” for the forseable future.

I don’t get it either. First the club (Rightly) complain that we didn’t get enough tickets for the Spuds game; then they cut short these allocations. just doesn’t make sense to me at all. Has anyone at the club offered any explanation?
