There are a lot of stories flying around Dimitri Payet and not all of them are true according to one West Ham insider who spoke to ClaretandHugh
The latest article in yesterday’s Daily Mail and Sun claimed that Payet is refusing to play for the Under 23’s but our insider he has never been asked to play for them by the club. West Ham do not want risk injury to a £30m player in a reserve competitive match during the transfer window so he wasn’t asked to play.
Another story last week claimed the Frenchman stormed out of training at Chadwell Heath, again our insider denied this and said he has been ‘exemplary’ in training according to Academy coaches and working hard with his head down without complaint despite reports to contrary.
Reports that his wife and kids have already move back to France have also been dismissed with our insider saying his family is still live in Loughton to the best of his knowledge and Payet’s kids are still attending school in England.
The source even poured scorn on the claims first team players had blocked him from a Whatsapp group. The insider said I have spoken to a number of first team players personally and they claim he has not been ousted from a Whatsapp group.
Don’t get me wrong, what Payet did in refusing to play for the first team was totally wrong and unprofessional as well as unforgivable but doesn’t mean we have to swallow every story written about him being the villain.
Whether stories of his reasons of wanting to return to France to save his marriage or being home sick are true is now irrelevant, he crossed a line with West Ham fans which will never be forgotten or forgiven so it time to sell him to Marseille before Monday’s deadline and move on.
The only news we can rely on is the words Slav said in his press conference, Payet was refusing to play for the club. Although most of us myself included got caught up with the constant media attention Payet himself has kept his mouth shut and it is his agent making all the noise, personally I am not sure we will sell him because Marseille are not coming close to his valuation yet. Never mind a sell on clause including the first £7m make it that and 25% of anything on to of the sale value plus a sizeable bonus for each year Marseille qualify for the CL while Payet is on their books etc.
Mixed Feelings…what he done was bang outta order, but he still wears the colours at training.Good Report.think i’l be a bit more positive towards him from now on.
