Easy group for Rice and co

|

Declan Rice and his England team-mates have been handed one of the easiest groups in World Cup history!

The Three Lions have been placed in Group B and are set to take on some teams without any real international pedigree: both Iran and the USA have been drawn with Gareth Southgate’s side.

In addition to that, they will also face the winner of the European World Cup qualifying play-off; it’ll be either Scotland, Wales, or Ukraine.

There is absolutely no doubt that the Three Lions should be getting out of the group.

Other highlights see Spain drawn with Germany, Portugal drawn alongside Ghana, and Belgium facing Croatia.

The full draw is below…

GROUP A: Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands

GROUP B: England, Iran, USA, Scotland or Wales or Ukraine

GROUP C: Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland

GROUP D: France, UAE or Australia or Peru, Denmark, Tunisia

GROUP E: Spain, Costa Rica or New Zealand, Germany, Japan

GROUP F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia

GROUP G: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon

GROUP H: Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, Korea Republic

OK, so the draw could have been worse, however, dissing the competition??
Scotland will have a big point to prove, another Calcutta Cup?
Wales were Semi finalist in Euro 16
Ukraine may be on a wave of Patriotism, Victimised or victorious euphoria, but I imagine they will give everything on the pitch?
USA are current CONACAF Gold Cup winners (7th Time), were Quarter finalist less than 20 years ago (Not counting their 3rd place in 1930, that’s only bettered by England twice since 1966…. and they don’t even play football, they play ‘soccer’..!!

The Netherlands probably got the best draw, IMHO
