ClaretandHugh has learned West Ham are expecting to learn the result of their appeal against Tomas Soucek’s red card by lunchtime today (Mon).
The FA appeals committee has rushed into action to deal with a situation which they normally address after a couple of working days.
And it may be that the tremendous amount of publicity over the controversy has moved them to look at the red card Tomas received at Fulham more quickly than previously.
But the big question is whether they dare undermine the same officials – Lee Mason and Mike Dean – who were responsible for handing out another red card they have since rescinded at Southampton during the 9-0 defeat by Leicester City.
There have to be fears within the club for the player and us fans that the Football Association will make a decision based on their own politically correct approach to their men on the job rather than on what actually took place on the field of play.
they, themselves, are referees in this case and must act – unpolitically – and come to the correct technical decision. protecting their own employee’s reputation should not even enter the picture. he’s done a terrible job in 2 games in succession and should be dropped, like any player who has performed poorly, until his game is up to scratch again. i hope it never is and we don’t have to watch him watching himself on television ever again
