Lucas Paqueta’s FA hearing over match fixing has been postponed until the summer clearing him to play for West Ham for the remainer of the season.
The FA charged the West Ham player last May for allegedly getting booked deliberately “for the improper purpose of affecting the betting market”.
The Brazilian was also charged with two breaches of FA Rule F3, which relate to his mobile phone.
Paqueta has strongly denied all four charges brought against him insisting “misleading and inaccurate” reporting is putting his chances of a fair disciplinary hearing at risk.
Back in October last year Paqueta took to social media to say, “I am frustrated and upset to have read recent misleading and inaccurate press articles, published in both England and Brazil, claiming to disclose information about my case, Some of that information is entirely false and appears designed to undermine my position.
“I am also concerned that, although they are false and misleading, these articles are clearly sourced from an individual close to the case.”
“The FA proceedings are supposed to be confidential and they are extremely serious for me and my family,”
“The continued leaking and publication of inaccurate information in the press is now putting at risk my chance of receiving a fair hearing.
“I have, therefore, instructed my lawyers to write to the FA to request that they conduct a thorough investigation into how information about the case, even if inaccurate, is finding its way into the public domain.”
Originally the FA hearing was expected to be heard in late January this year but that was moved to March but now sources close to the player claim the hearing will be rescheduled to the summer after the Premier League season has completed.
Unbelievably, we’re now into the 3rd year of these allegations hanging over his head, the first of them dating back to 2022. It’s outrageous that in all that time the FA hasn’t come up with a single shred of evidence. If they had any, we’d have known about it long ago. As for those people who say he’s guilty, I suggest they do what the FA has failed to do, and come up with the evidence and proof themselves. As it is, the latest report that the case is going to drag on until the summer suggests that the FA is still floundering around but getting nowhere. No wonder Paqueta hasn’t been at his best, with all these allegations hanging over his head. Still, It was great to see him score in the last couple of games and although he can be a bit of a play actor, lets hope for more goals to come!
FA. A bunch of very highly paid amateurs who are well out of their depth with this. They haven’t arrived at a conclusion of ‘no case to answer’ because they are scared to death of the compensation claims from all involved.
FA will keep this going until they retire or find a scapegoat to take the rap. They have more time to waste than Lucas Paqueta. They will not suffer in their careers and bank balances. Lucas will not have a second opportunity to be 27, 28, 29 & 30. A career ruined and blighted by a bunch of amateurs with too much influence.
It would be good to discover the identities of these faceless cowards. It would be good to have transparency concerning these allegations and the people involved in delivering justice for the alleged crimes.
Couldn’t agree more. These faceless idiots don’t have a career hanging in the balance and why has it taken so long for the FA to evidence their case. Total disgrace.
West ham are going to make a big mistake going for the forest boy, he is rubbish have we not learnt our by our mistakes
Quite right Daryl. He costs us more goals than he scores with all his play acting and rolling around like a c**t when he’s caught on the ball. Wouldn’t mind at all if he f****d off

Blokes guilty where theres smoke and all that all his own doing greedy
This is very good news. He’ll be up for Saturday. With a win we can go 10th COYI
I think with all this hanging over his head the guy has shown great strength of character just to get out on the field and do the thing he loves most. That is why I get infuriated when often on this site he is given a player rating of 3 or 4 when in reality when we have lost he has been no worse than the rest but his perceived performance expectation is always deemed to be higher because he is our most skillful player and it is so easy to forget what this is doing to his wellbeing
Hopefully now he can focus on the remainder of the season
Isn’t there still supposed to be a hearing in Brazil?
Great news
With the date being put back, again, surely shows they have F A against Lucas, they are trying to find evidence. Stay strong Lucas.
No doubt if he played for one of the Premier League’s favoured teams the case would have been dropped already
The FA will bust him for something just so they don’t get sued . That’s why they added the phone BS which was engineered .
Good news as his form seems to have picked up with Potter’s arrival.
Why don’t they just say they’ve messed up and put the poor bloke out of his misery and us with it COYI
