Dwight McNeil and Reiss Nelson have both been mentioned as potential targets for West Ham in ExWHUEmployee’s most recent transfer update.
Both have been linked with West Ham in the past, with Nelson coming particularly close to joining the Hammers two years ago.
Nelson Back On The Radar
Last season, the 26-year-old spent the campaign on loan at Brentford but, suffice to say, he was underwhelming and the Bees decided not to take up their £15m option.
As a result, he has returned to Arsenal.
McNeil Out Of Favour
McNeil was in and out of the Everton team under David Moyes last season and has failed to really push on.
He was a favourite under Sean Dyche at both Burnley and Everton but is believed to be surplus to requirements at the Hill Dickinson Stadium next season.
Good Enough For The Championship?
In fairness, both would be okay in the Championship next season, but I’d be reluctant to spend any huge amount on either.
In the event of promotion back to the Premier League, both would likely need to be upgraded.
That probably tells its own story.
Reiss Nelson is bang average but McNeill is a good player certainly at Championship level he would be well above average.
