First team coach Alan Irvine has revealed that Andy Carroll and Chicharito are unlikely starters for tomorrow evening’s FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury.
Irvine took today’s pre-match presser and said: “Andy Carroll is not fit yet. Chicharito came in this morning but was sent home unwell, and we don’t know if he will be okay for tomorrow. We will see in the morning where everyone is.
Ayew and Martinez up front then. Arnie on the bench just in case. Rice and Oxford start too. Should be enough to see us through?
Carroll played last week scored 2 and looked on his way back ..then all of a sudden he,s injured again.. Wtf is going on ?… Did he do it in training or is it the Chelsea link ??
It’s been windy he is out with a few split ends on his pony tail.
Scored a stunner against Crystal Palace last year, we thought he was back to proper fitness and scoring again, only for him to get injured and then we didn’t see him again till after pre-season.
Guess what, it’s happening again during the January transfer window. Coincidence???
I’d like to see Lanzini and Arnie given the first hour in the Shrewsbury game, then bring on Samuelson and Martinez in their place, to build their partnership and confidence against the lesser opposition.
If they grab another few goals in this game they will be flying against Bournemouth.
Don’t risk Arnie or Lanzini unless we have to. Getting out of trouble in the league is far more important and don’t want them kicked about unnecessarily!
As for Carroll, it seems as though a few of our players are now angling for a move away. If we can swap him for Batshyte then I think that would be a good deal, as would selling him for £30m! But don’t loan him out to anyone, even if they will pay his wages, because that is a non-result which in reality gives the dildos the excuse not to replace him.
