West Ham have confirmed that a Football Association Regulatory Commission has upheld the Club’s claim for wrongful dismissal in respect of the red card shown to Sofiane Feghouli against Manchester United.
The midfielder was sent-off during the first half of the Hammers’ 2-0 Premier League defeat by the Red Devils at London Stadium on Monday 2nd January, with the game goalless at the time.
The Club’s successful claim means Feghouli’s three-match suspension is withdrawn. The Algerian is therefore eligible to play against Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup third round on Friday evening and in the following Premier League fixtures with Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough.
And in spite of Adrian Durham’s hot air, we had had good possession in those first 15 mins and Feghouli had been one of our most influential players until he was Deaned. I think we could have taken something from the game.
Damage done, indeed. At least we get Feghouli back for the next games. But Dean needs to be sent for a reality check in the lower divisions. That is a system they used in Spain for consistently underperforming, which is what this arrogant fellow does over and over again. It was known as being sent to the fridge (“a la nevera”). The would maybe keep this guy frosty…
Good but I think there should be a points compensation too – 2 points for a loss, 1 for a draw and nothing extra for a win.
