Finally: Moysie becomes the new Fergie!

|

More and more words keep pouring out in praise of David Moyes and this one from CandH follower Eug absolutely nails things. Finally, after his short-lived reign at Old Trafford seven years back, the Hammers boss  appears to have finally become the new Alex Ferguson. Read on….!

Moyes has become the new Alex Ferguson.

At a time when everyone is saying that the old style manager who runs a club from top to bottom is dead, David Moyes is doing just that.

He has transformed the whole organisation from top to bottom. Nothing happens unless he say’s so. He has transformed the backroom staff into a top team of ultra professionals who are moulding the team into Moyes vision.

At the same time he is creating a team spirit and work ethic that hasn’t been seen at West Ham for a very long time. No one now get’s signed unless he says so. He personally overseas all transfers. We have gone from being a joke, signing over the hill, past their best players at over inflated prices, to signing young talented and hard working top quality players.

His insistence on the appointment of an experienced head of recruitment is again a sign of his professionalism. This will free Moyes time to concentrate on the team, knowing that once he has identified his targets the signings will be handled professionally, quietly and behind closed doors.

We are now a shining example of how a football club should be run and it is down to David Moyes. Congratulations to him.

High praise indeed…. lets just see where West Ham are in 12 months from now, before we give him the ‘Freedom of the City’ … just thinking of Claudio Ranieri…. Won the title in 2016 with Leicester, voted manager of the season awards etc……. fast forward 9 months… fired!

I agree with everything Eug wrote. Moyes is very much like Ferguson, he even comes from the same place in Scotland. The staff he employs and the players he buys all seem to have the same positive work ethic that Moyes has himself. This has inevitably led to continuous improvement. It’s true Hard work pays off eventually.

Great post Eug, and I am convinced that you could’ve written an article ten times longer than what you have done and still not quite sum up the man that is David Moyes. Moyes has grabbed this unruly, dysfunctional club by the scruff of its neck and replaced it with the order, direction and discipline that has been missing for many years. Moyes is the Manager that this club has needed since Lyall, a manager interested in the whole fabric of the club from top to bottom.
It takes a brave man to admit when he is wrong for this I am grateful for Sully and Gold and even more grateful to Moyes for putting everything to one side, swallowing his pride and coming back to this club…. all the stars aligned.
As supporters, we had become used to the way that West Ham have operated for years, flattering to deceive and apart from the occasional victory against bigger clubs (which we still see as history-making), we haven’t had too much to cheer about.
I have ALWAYS seen Moyes as a rare breed of manager and is almost a Fergie clone, in this respect. With what our game of football has become, I doubt whether there will ever be another manager like Moyes again.
We have to count ourselves as fortunate, as we have…David Moyes Claret and Blue Army ⚒️⚒️
