Five games which can land Moysie his ‘dream’ job

|

skysports-david-moyes-football-west-ham-united-premier-league_4178157David Moyes is approaching a month of games which will define his future …one that he wants heart and soul to be at West Ham United.

And make no mistake, despite there being a break clause when the season ends for both sides to decide what they want next, PL survival will see the Scot handed a lucrative long term target.

We could well know whether that is actually going to happen by February 10 after games against Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Palace, Brighton and Watford.

Make no mistake 15 points is possible which would take our points tally to 37 – one point shy of the 38 which is usually seen as the safety target.

Even if we throw in the loss of say three points we’re very close with winnable games against the likes of Swansea, Southampton and Stoke to come. Add a few from the more difficult matches and all will be more than well.

Survival will see Moyes installed on decent terms after taking to life at our club like a duck to water with those close to him saying he loves the place.

One told ClaretandHugh: “It reminds him of his Everton days and he’s desperate to stay herel. He’s incredibly happy with the club.”

Sullivan and Gold have no reason whatsoever – should survival be assured – not to offer him a two or three year deal. Meanwhile Moyes is a canny operator who is being ultra careful in one of the most important transfer windows he’s ever faced gien his current Hammers ambition.

He knows he can’t buy mugs and has yet to come up with the final players names he wants through the door knowing he has to get it absolutely right.

It’s totally critical for his own future here but the wheeling and dealing starts very soon!

    Ins: Dendoncker, Smolov, Shelvey, Akanji.
    Outs: Ayew, Sakho, Kouyate, Fonte.

That’s what I would like personally.
    Will it happen? Probably not!

I like that but since we have young talented CBs & Spurs & BVB are after Anjaki I’d rather get his teammates for much need creativity Mohamed Elynoussoui 16 assists 6 goals in 24 apps. Would add Lanzini much needed help & Manu does better w another creator around we have seen it.

And looka like Chic could go to w Moyes I dont see Chic working out unfortunate I like him met him very nice person but somewhere like LAFC might be great for him bc under Moyes he will be barley used & if used not in best positon.
LA is close to his Home in Mexico they have Intl teammte Vela for him to pkay up front with.
If he leaves I’d keep Ayew to have off bench & poach have a thin squad & hoping we keep Cullen & Burke hears earlier we would now what to see after Replay.

If he isn’t brave and makes some strong choices about who he plays on merit, then we will have a repeat of the Newcastle and Bournemouth games.Playing these experienced PL pro’s then trying to sign the likes of Arter,Shelvey and Arfield willbe his downfall. All this crap about playing youngsters before at other clubs is a myth.Play the players with desire and commitment. If the likes of Danny Murphy can see it then why can’t Moyes

Moyes has to completely up his game and show he can play offensively when needed to get the job full time.
The cup games against Arsenal and Shrewsbury were an utter disgrace in how we set up, look at Bristol City at Man City the other night, they had a go and we’re a credit to their manager, Moyes would of set up not to lose instead of thinking he could win, until he can adapt to who we are playing and in what competition I think Moyes will disappoint, His record at Everton especially in cup games is average, no where near a trophy.
Want him and Pearce to work out but entertainment is vital.

Let’s get safe first. Then we can worry about entertainment.

+1 Mooro, I think 15 points would be an absolute dream, in all likelyhood based on how we have played teams around us somewhere between 7 – 9 is more realistic.

      • JRS says:

Would love 15pts & think if we stay organised defensively & counter w Arnie & Lanzini we could make it happen but we will need to find that balance & hope for some luck w injuries & more.
Thing is in league now 10th & 20th are only separated by what 9pts. At 15th we are 1pt off drop zone it is so close in bottom half.
Be great to pull ahead but seems playing teams around us is harder then playing the big clubs.

Think Moyes has the job already if he wants but he said himself would wait till summer & arguably better in his 2nd season then look more to future w boys etc eight now has to secure his rep.
And he will have all the negotiationimg power come contract talks.

  • Hammer64 says:

Spot on Mooro. After the last two seasons winning will be entertainment for me.

The owners will be watching carefully. They know Moyes put up with a rubbish squad at Sunderland with no big January spend. That was his big attraction back in November. If they can get him to suck up the same treatment twice he will be their man for sure, even if those game still go badly.
