Former Hammer Frank Lampard will be sacked today by Chelsea with the former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel set to replace him at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard was appointed as manager in July 2019 and spent more than £222m last summer on players including Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.
His spell, however, will come to an end after a disappointing run of results left them off the pace in the fight to qualify for the Champions League.
According to a nonsense report from Don Balon last week West Ham’s star player could be allowed to leave for as little as £44million due to the financial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
Absolute rubbish! How more many times do we need to say this.
The player isn’t for sale! There have been no formal enquires and no bids, time to move on, nothing to see here.
I’ve no love at all for Chelsea, I’ve no opinion on Frank Lampard either. But still it blows my mind that managers aren’t given time to mould a squad.
If Moyes had been given time at Old Trafford to make the squad his, who knows, I mean he’s done wonders with this squad.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer didn’t exactly set United on fire initially but he’s been given time and look what he’s achieving now.
Anyhow I hope Chelsea’s season goes to sh1t, nothing personal.
The Premier League bubble has burst for Frank. Shame he only walks away with up to £10million compensation to no doubt add to his already vast property portfolio. Compare that to the financial disaster enveloping many football supporters in this destructive pandemic. Its obscene and no sympathy required!
Well said.
Who cares? This is a West Ham page.
Suppose Frank will be in the frame to take over at West Ham when we have turned on Wee Davey. Frank is a brilliant bloke. If he was to come in and manage our club, I hope he would keep the ‘backroom’ staff. Maybe even keep Moyes. Director of Football could be a good fit – for Frank. This was David Moyes big misjudgement at Manchester United. He was handpicked to replace Ferguson. Instead of doing that, he brought his own men from Everton to show the squad how to play football. Resentment all around. Animosity abounding. Nobody liked the new men and weren’t about to learn new tricks to help build the Dream. Wee Davey hasn’t been able to repeat that failure at West Ham and is well on the way to making us into The Academy of Dreams.
Wishing Frank all the best. Harsh removal from the helm – maybe Jose is ready to return.
