Former Hammer will miss out on Europe

|

Ajax look like they will be without former Hammer Sebastian Haller for their Europa League last-32 tie against Lille after he was left out of the squad ‘by accident.’

Haller cost the Hammers around £45million from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2017 but never really managed to live up to his hefty price-tag.

He made 48 Premier League appearances and scored 10 goals for the  Hammers before being sold to Ajax last month for £20.2m.

That should have been the end of Haller’s recent woes, but now the 26-year-old is faced with the prospect of missing crucial matches for his new club.

His new club have confirmed that Haller has been mistakenly left out of their Europa League squad for their tie against Lille later this month.

He said: “He is indeed not on the list, we are trying to find out what went wrong. We have contacted the KNVB and UEFA.”
