Round to join Hammers

Arsenal have confirmed that Mikel Arteta’s assistant Steve Round has left the club by mutual consent.

And it seems very likely that he may now be straight on his way to the London Stadium as David Moyes’ right hand man following the announcement of the departure of Paul Nevin from the Hammers.

Round has been at the Emirates since Mikel Arteta’s appointment in 2019 but an e mail from Arsenal Sporting Director Edu,  made it clear that he was on his way from the club.

And that immediately sparked suggestions that he was again to join Moyes having been his assistant in the past.

The email reads: “As preparations for the new men’s season get underway we can confirm Steve Round has left the club by mutual agreement.

The Mirror clams that  Round’s role had been reduced in recent months and with him having worked with Moyes during the West Ham manager’s Everton and Manchester United looks a near certain replacement.
