Four Hammers ready for European action

|

Hammer Andriy Yarmolenko has already scored twice and assisted another goal at the European tournament, so will be looking for more against Sweden as Ukraine proceed to the final sixteen of Euro 2020 in Glasgow next Tuesday.  Ukraine qualified as one of the best third place finishers in the group stages.

Elsewhere, Declan Rice and England, and Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal of the Czech Republic were already assured of their second round spots, with Wednesday’s results confirming their opponents.  The Three Lions, as Group D winners, will face Group F runners-up Germany in a blockbuster Wembley clash on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, Czech Republic, who finished third in Group D, will now take on the Netherlands in Budapest on Sunday.

Łukasz Fabiański and Poland suffered an unfortunate early exit in Group E after losing 3-2 to Sweden on Wednesday.

Fabianski will now be entitled to three weeks of holiday before returning to West Ham pre-season training meaning he could miss the training camp in Scotland.
