Foxes boss Rodgers backs Moyes big time

|

Brendan Rodgers clearly has much time for David Moyes and his backroom team.

He believes the Hammers are already becoming a team to reckon with under them and claims they will continue to grow as a squad

Games come no harder than tomorrow’s against the Foxes but the City boss knows he can’t treat the game lightly after the Hammers have shown what they can be about in the last two games against Arsenal and Wolves.

Commenting at his presser ahead of the game he declared: “I’m very confident that the longer David and his staff are there, then the more they will grow. David is a proven manager. Alan [Irvine] and Stu [Pearce] are fantastic coaches.

“Once they can get their teeth into a consistent group and get that organisation and template of how they work, West Ham will continue to grow.

“They played very well in the game against Arsenal, they were difficult to beat, and it was unfortunate. They had speed on the counter-attack against Wolves, it was a fantastic result.

“Wolves don’t concede many goals so to win 4-0 is a huge shot of confidence for them. They’ll come to us with a plan and they’ve got threat which we need to be ready for.”

Some are already trying to underplay the Wolves result with Molineux manager Nuno Espirito Santo claiming that was one of the worst – if not the worst – he had seen his team perform.
Be that as it may, the reality is the Irons took full advantage and could easily have scored a couple or so more and Rodgers is right to claim that the confidence will be high.
The only decision we are awaiting on team selection for the Hammers is the involvement or otherwise of Vladimir Coufal who, with Ryan Fredericks injured, could step in for Ben Johnson although maybe the most realistic scenario is that he will be on the bench having only just arrived on the training ground.
Issa Diop too may get a bench position having only trained for a couple of days this week after self-isolation.
CandH’s likely starting 11: Fabianski; Johnson, Balbuena, Oggy, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek, Bowen, Masuaku, Fornals, Antonio.

Our problem is we cant string results together…one good game against wolves isnt enough..we will see how many games we have to wait to play like that again..that’s why most fans are not getting excited..we have been here many many times before…let’s see what happens tomorrow

As long as we put in a performance – I’d take a point at Leicester

Wolves played the way we forced them to. Moyes and crew had a game plan and WHU was driving the bus. I believe Moyes has the brains to do the same to Leicester.
Rice and Soucek remain the best pairing in the EPL. Our defence has improved considerably and the offence has teeth.

Brendan Rodgers realises that given time, Moyes is capable of creating a legacy…………..
But as the saying goes Rome wasn’t built in a day and although it’s a concept difficult to comprehend, Moyes given both TIME and STABILITY will turn this club around.
Right now he is working with Pellegrini’s players apart from his two additions Bowen and Soucek.
