Frankfurt chief unhappy at Hammers “tough” ticket sales

|

West Ham a[pear to have got their ticket selling operation for the match against Eintracht Frankfurt spot on given the irritation it appears to have caused in Germany.

The Hammers made it clear from the outset that they wanted no tickets finding their way into the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt

And that has caused annoyance at the club with sporting director Markus Krösche admitting the Hammers wanted to be “tough” on the tickets allocated to the German club ahead of their Europa League semi-final meeting next week.

Around 30,000 Frankfurt fans attended the club’s win over Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the quarter-finals despite only being allocated around 5,000 tickets.

West Ham have called for a  bigger police presence in fear of something similar happening at the London stadium after completely selling out their own allocation ensuring no German fans will get into our home end.

The Hammers have gone all the way on this and will cancel season tickets this season and next for anyone relisting their seats on selling sites for the game.

West Ham and Frankfurt fans clashed when their sides played last-16 ties in Seville during the same week last month.

Speaking to German outlet Hessenchau, Krösche said: “The English want to be tough there. I hope that there are still more in the city. This feeling does something to us.”
