French media claim Paqueta has agreed terms with Man City

West Ham latest News: Paqueta deal reported as ‘done’

French football news outlets are claiming that Manchester City have reached a personal agreement with West Ham‘s magnifico, Lucas Paqueta. It’s a mystery how the French press obtained inside information on a transfer involving a Brazilian player moving between two English clubs. One plausible explanation could be the connections Paqueta established during his stint at Lyon in France.

Whilst it’s difficult to verify the accuracy of such a bold claim, the French media seem to be presenting it as undeniable truth. Manchester City purportedly finalised personal terms with Lucas Paqueta for a long term contract, despite apparent absence of negotiations between the two clubs at this stage. However, with an £85 million buyout clause activated in July, there’s little room for bargaining between the parties.

This isn’t the first time the two clubs have engaged in discussions regarding the player. Last summer, Manchester City expressed willingness to splash £85 million on the former Olympique Lyonnais midfielder. Unfortunately, the deal fell through after the Football Association launched an investigation into alleged betting violations, thwarting the proceedings.
