Geordie doubts may be emerging

|

A few false assumptions may be about to come home to worry Newcastle fans.

One might be tempted to ask “Who?” with the news that Paulo Fonseca is being fancied as the new Geordie boss at a wage of around £6 million a year – hardly a fortune in Saudi terms!.

He’s no glamour name and that he was rejected by the Hammers ahead of the club appointing Pellegrini isn’t what the Toon Army will want to hear today.

At 48, he is into his 11th club as a manager.

No disrespect but most would have been expecting a much bigger name to be arriving at the club given the cash which the Saudi Arabians are supposedly ready to spend on the club.

It seems an unambitious appointment as an opener for the Saudis and we will now all be looking with keen interest to see the level they reach in the January market.

Fonseca may of course turn out to be business  but we can’t help feeling there may be a few doubts creeping into the minds of fans in the north east.
