Gold cannot eat until Hammers go two goals up

|

March 2016 CoverWest Ham co-owner David Gold gets so nervous watching West Ham he ‘barely eats’ and doesn’t relax until West Ham go two goals to the good, according to his daughters.
In a joint interview with Blowing Bubbles Monthly, West Ham United heiresses Jacqueline and Vanessa Gold lift the lid on what their father is like as a businessman, father an Hammers fan.

The pair, who describe the Boleyn Ground as their second home, are also confident the Irons will be in safe hands for years to come with their Dad and David Sullivan at the helm.

As for leaving Upton Park, Jacqueline who was made a CBE for her services to entrepreneurship, women in business and social enterprise, said: ‘Of course we’ll be sad, because we grew up around the ground. But if we want to progress as a club then where better to go than the iconic Olympic Stadium? I think it might feel a bit strange at first but the opportunity to watch our team play there, will be phenomenal.’

Elsewhere in the monthly magazine, fan favourite Jack Collison has joined the calls for Roy Hodgson to call up Mark Noble to the England squad.

In a wide-ranging interview for Blowing Bubbles Monthly, the former Wales international said he believes the Hammers skipper would ‘easily’ slot in the England midfield.

The 27-year-old, who announced his retirement from football last month, also admits he cannot wait to return to the Boleyn Ground at the end of this month to play in Noble’s testimonial. In his column, George Parris writes that Dimitri Payet’s London Player of the Year Award will be one of many he collects this year.
‘Even when he hasn’t performed as well as he might have liked, he’ll still have put in some amazing free kicks and corners, and whenever he has a free kick you expect the net to bulge.’
Meanwhile, writing in her column, Sky Sports’ Bianca Westwood admits she has almost run out of positive things to say about West Ham, Slaven Bilic and their season to date.
She added: ‘The game [against Spurs] reminded me of the spirit of ‘86. If we manage to break into that top four and stay there until the end of the season, it will be a similar achievement to that which Tony Cottee, Frank McAvennie, and co managed to do 30 years ago.’
The March issue of Blowing Bubbles also asks whether or not West Ham can finish above Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United, and once again champion Mark Noble as worthy of a place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad.
The monthly magazine also looks ahead to Noble’s testimonial at the end of March, focus on why the travelling Hammers prove that West Ham are a sleeping giant, delve into what went wrong for Nigel Reo-Coker, look at four trips to Stamford Bridge that saw West Ham giving Chelsea the Blues, and much more, ‘
