Gold expects massive reaction against West Brom

|

West-Ham-United-co-owner-David-GoldDavid Gold is expecting a massive reaction from the West Ham players at West Brom today.

The co chairman is just about over the Watford defeat but clearly hopes the players aren’t and are ready to take their anger out in full on the Baggies.

Speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh he said: “There are lessons in life and then there are very very harsh lessons. We had one last week and I believe the players will have taken it very much to heart. There should be a massive reaction.

“If we are a good team – and I believe we are – we should be getting a win at West Brom today. That’s me being optimistic particularly as I believe we have added very good players to last season’s squad.

“Slaven mentioned this morning that maybe we have been in a comfort zone and that could be the case and although this is a tough place to come to  we were bitten on the bum very badly last weekend and the boys will be determined to put things right.

“We know they are well organised and a team that’s determined not to concede but I’m sure Slaven will go for it. We need a result to get things genuinely started.”

We have not bought well this summer, our summer transfer plan was dreadful. We brought in too many average players like Tore and Nordsvel. Zaza is not a top goal scorer, he is no where near as good as Sakho. Ayew jury is out big time so overall our squad is not that much improved. Other teams have went for quality rather than quantity and I believe that should have been our strategy. We also went away from unproven talent like Lanzin to buying experience – very costly, a poor summer that will be reflected in a struggle to finish anywhere near where we finished last season.

****ing hell Johnham you must be the most miserable geezers on the planet. You just constantly moan about everything.
For a man who thought buying Antonio was plain crazy last summer you are hardly in any position to judge players abilities.

That he might seem to be but then look at the dross they are turning out on the pitch. This is not good and that is somewhat of a large understatement

Sorry I never said buying Antonio was crazy, the 3 signings I said were crazy signings were Byran Ayew and Zaza. And secondly I have never rated Carroll in the system we play. I am not miserable just being honest and I believe there are many more supporters that share my opinions.

It isn’t offensively we have any issues other than not scoring more than we are conceding, every match we are scoring goals the trouble is defending as a team is poor. The difference between this season and last season was against the good teams last season we were not conceding any goals.
