Gold hands out glowing reference

|

Josh Cullen will return for pre-season on the back of a fabulous loan spell at Charlton ending in a play off final 2-1 triumph over Sunderland.

He played a major role at Wembley yesterday (Mon) and will be looking to play a part in the first team squad next season – a situation he has made absolutely no secret.

He was quick to reveal that he had been asked to go back to the club three or four weeks ago and nothing that has happened since then has done him anything but good.

Whether it has improved him sufficiently to make the necessary impact on the boss remains to be seen but he certainly appears to have one major fan at the club in David Gold.

The co-chairman has been following his progress closely over the last few days and as a result Cullen will be returning to Rush Green with a glowing reference from him ringing  in his ears.

Gold tweeted ahead of the game: “The on loan West Ham midfielder has been instrumental in leading Charlton to Wembley. Good luck Josh. dg,”

Gold then returned to social media on Sunday to dub Cullen’s display against Sunderland in the final as outstanding.

“Charlton 2 Sunderland 1 Josh Cullen was outstanding Congratulations Josh. dg,”
