The co-chairman was in jovial mood as he spoke of the difficulties his manager faces in picking a team for the match against Newcastle United on Monday night adding: “He asked for various players and we got them all. Slaven  deserves the problem!”

Gold admits he has warmed to his new boss in a big way and believes he could remain with the club manager for a long time into the future.

Speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh he said: “He’s 47. When someone reaches their 60s there’s a natural end to things but Slaven could be here for many years to come.

“I like the man very much. Sometimes you meet people and there’s a natural chemistry – this is one of those occasions.

He even thanked me for the transfer window which is the first time in 23 years a manager has done so. He’s a proper man and I believe he will be a top manager for us.

“We are all fascinated to see what team he puts out on Monday but one thing is certain, we will have the strongest bench we’ve seen at West Ham in many years.

“I wouldn’t even start to speculate but I’m sure he has some headaches on that front” and he laughed: “He deserves them.”.

Not just the side but the formation and how we are going to approach the game ,
Sit back and counter attack so good away from home or come out all guns blazing and try and finish them off fast,
6 months ago it was respect the point or respect the point,
Much as I want to see the new boys and the return of Carroll and Zarate I want to see the team that won at Liverpool repaid with keeping their places,
    How good does it get

Its funny, a couple of months ago we were moaning the squad was too thin. Now there seems to be options all over the pitch.Nice problem to have.Better than players like Nolan & JOB being one of the main options, lol

In time bubs it will get even better I’m quite sure of that !!
And agree that the same side at anfield should start also,
This is where it all starts ! Monday night !!
Squad intact and now the gelling starts but we must be patient ?
Bilic will be here for a long time yet I’m sure you just know in you’re belly that’s true !!!
Greenwood ‘ish and lyall’esk , you just know it feels right !!
    On and upwards , COYI!!!!!!!!!!!!S

I think their will be one change on monday. I think at home Bilic will want a wide player to unlock newcastles defence instead of everything going through the middle which has worked away from home. At home teams try to hit you on the counter attack so you need more options. With that in mind i would be surprised if either Moses or Antonio didnt start.

Although I think they should all be given chance to produce another result, if I was forced to change it I would do what you say.
I would choose Antonio, as a goalscoring winger who could frighten the life out of defenses with his power and pace. He is like having another striker. I would drop Obiang to the bench in that case.
