David Gold has achieved his lifetime ambition by becoming co chairman of West Ham and has no intention of taking over Watford.

Urged on Twitter to buy the Hornets Gold declared: “Thank you for asking but I’m West Ham till I die. dg https://twitter.com/dilemma1979/status/1170404799424159749

He had responded to a tweet which had declared: ” I hate our owners @davidgold you don’t wanna buy us do you.” 😅

He had looked at other clubs during his and David Sullivan’s absence from the game including the likes of Charlton, Crystal Palace and Portsmouth.

But even on his departure from St Andrews it was the Hammers – then under the Icelandics – he and Sullivan had always wanted the Hammers.

Watford meanwhile – having endured an awful start to the season = with the Irons contributing to their demise have since made a managerial change with Javi Gracia parting company leaving and and Quique Sanchez Flores returning to the dugout at Vicarage Road.
