Gold wants to win Europa league

|

gold_2446989bWest Ham Chairman David Gold wants to take the Europa League seriously and says he wants to win it!

Speaking to the BBC today Gold told Frank Keogh

“I really take this tournament seriously and I want to win it, We’ve got to prepare ourselves for plenty of games and hope we don’t get too many injuries.”

“We saw it last season with a fabulous start, then players started dropping like flies before we finished a disappointing 12th.”

The Europa draw for the first two qualifying rounds will be broadcast live on Monday afternoon via UEFA.com. West Ham are seeded top of 108 teams.

we must be ambitious, aim high and whatever will be, will be. I like the way he’s thinking. But we need other palyers as well Mr Gold ;-D

I want to see us win every game but I also want us to do good in Europe, this will bring our club to the attention of players who only hear of the Manchester clubs or Chelsea and Arsenal,
Because this tournament comes first we need to get back in winning ways and keep it going into the Premier

I think DG needs to go round to Kevs to give him a motivational speech then head back to UP and get the joint chequebook out lol

Every club in it wants to win it obviously, especially with a champions league place for the winner. But there are going to be some serious teams come into the europa league. If you dont invest you crash out.Love the positivity but players not the chairmens pep talks win the trophys. If you dont invest seriously forget the europa league winning idea DG!! 😉

    Invest, invest, invest…quality costs money.

  • canchaz says:

If he means it, then they all better get their fingers out and start emulating teams like Saints and now Spurs who have just tied up their second signing.
We, in the meantime still seem to be treading water with all our ‘hot prospects’

I think young Jack should handle the buying and selling of players in the transfer market. His father and his offsider only seem to talk with no real action. It’s already been said by the others on this site that the time is now to invest in quality. Also I am sick of the spuds trying to muddy the water when we look at a player like Cabaye.

Just read Chelski are trying to railroad our negotiations for Song. What are the bloody owners doing or more precisely not doing? If we miss out on Song who are they going to get?

” I want to win the Europa league ” ,,, well Dave this may come as a surprise to you , but so do us Fans . The first & second round draws are on this Monday lunch time , and we are being slow to sign players . We seem to be linked with every Tom , dick and Harry . I admire your ambition but Bilic must be given the ammo for his gun . It is time to commit your joint cheque books to the cause . The only way to fill the OS is to be a Premiership club ., the extra bonus of a good Europa League run ( or even better , to win it ) should also help us , but we need a Larger , capable Squad .
