Great European night under the lights

|

Last night was probably one of the best nights at the London Stadium I have experienced .

Despite the rain and the turnstile queues it was a night to remember as West Ham played their first Europa League group stage home game.

Pre-kick off, supporters in the stadium were treated to fire and light shows as the stadium showed off the new LED lighting system.

The Rapid Vienna fans were in boisterous mood and full and voice and that seemed to lift the home crowd to sing louder and longer than other previous night games.

The attendance was impressive too with 50,004 paying for a chance to see European history in the making.

A 2-0 win to top the group H Europa League group helped the mood and the atmosphere and it just goes to prove that it is people make atmosphere and it is nothing to do with concrete, metal or the layout of the stadium.

I can’t wait to return on Sunday to watch the Hammers take on Brentford while I sure the fans will be fine voice gain.
