West Ham United are back in the picture as a potential destination for Julen Lopetegui, with his move to AC Milan now appearing less likely, according to the Guardian.

This development is the latest twist in a saga that shows no sign of abating. Lopetegui seemed destined for AC Milan over the weekend when it was reported that an agreement was in place between him and the club. The two parties had even agreed on a contract, with Lopetegui expecting final approval this week.

However, the Rossoneri have been taken aback by the negative reaction from their fans and are reportedly reconsidering their options.

It has now been suggested that Lopetegui is far less likely to take over as the next manager of AC Milan. The club is actively exploring other candidates, despite having a deal in place with the Spaniard.

Meanwhile, West Ham have re-entered the race for Lopetegui, having previously spoken to him as they seek a replacement for David Moyes.

Lopetegui’s Premier League experience is valued by West Ham’s co-owner David Sullivan, although the club’s hierarchy has reservations about appointing him.

Nevertheless, Lopetegui could be seen as a reliable choice for the London Stadium given his prior experience in England’s top flight.

We don’t want him!!! He’s Moyes 2.0!!! Get a proper Coach Sully

  • David1966 says:

Hang on, he turned West Ham down and now is apparently interested again as the AC Milan job is no longer for the taking. Erm no thanks. Surely we need a manager and players that want to be part of the rebuild that is needed.

Obviously our owners aren’t listening to us then!!? A forward thinking coach that wants to bring up the incredible youth talent we have would be the fans choice, not another defensive coach COYI ⚒️

    • David says:

      Yeah 100%

  • Bonzo says:

The Italian fans have a petition going to keep Lopetegui out of their club. I don’t think anyone wants him.

We certainly don’t want him he would be worse than moyes Sullivan needs to wake up or is he intent on ruining our future whatever manager comes in or moyes stays we need owners with vision something Sullivan does not have as always he wants everything on the cheap ok kudus and co cost a fair bit last year but they are worth more now so maybe the owners just want a quick profit and sod the fans and the proud history of our great club

  • Richard Palmer says:

We do not someone who considers us his second choice. We need to be brave and go for somebody who can play attacking football but who will also bring a top notch defensive coach with them. We will never become a real threat whilst we continue to ship goals the way we have over the last three seasons.

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Does Sullivan consider his 23 premier league games as suitable experience? And how can that possibly matter? We want a manager who inspires; not one who incites…

It would be typical of us to opt for personnel that other clubs with the kind of stature we aspire to spurn.

  • Eastendexile says:

We don’t want a Moyes v2 and if AC Milan fans can have enough input to make their feelings not only known but acted upon, then surely we must be able to make our voices heard too

  • exsoulie says:

We don’t want a Paella Moyes or anyone connected to Silkman. We really need an owner with vision as Sullivans blinded by porn.

  • Gray says:

West ham fans don’t want him either I rather keep moyes he is just the Spanish version of moyes. Sullivan to frigging old no vision needs to sell up get out of our club if we get him. Stupidity.
