Hammer shares terrific news

|

Michail Antonio  has shared some terrific news ahead the Hammers trip to Villa Park claiming his regular hamstring problems are a thing of the past.

Mikey told The Athletic that he has not even felt his hamstrings this season due to lifestyle changes he has made and he intents to keep it that way for the remainder of the season.

“I’ve come to realise I’m no longer the young pup that I used to be,” Antonio told The Athletic.

“I kept believing that I was. There were certain things in life I was doing that I could have been better with.

“I used to eat what I wanted, I wasn’t the best eater. Now I’ve changed my diet and routine of life. And I’ve noticed since I changed my diet I’ve had less niggles and I’ve not felt my hamstrings at all.”

The 31-year-old has made 10 appearances this season in all competitions plus one International appearance for Jamaica.

He has started all but one Premier League games missing just one due to suspension and also started two out of three Europa League games.

He has already scored seven goals this season, six of those coming in the Premier League.

Last season Antonio made 27 appearances scoring 10 goals in all competitions.

Michail was out injured five times last season missing 97 days and 13 games.

This is truly great news for Mikey and the club, as I think it proves the medical science team who are now in place at the club, compared to those departments in the past, are on the ball. Expanded to the whole squad, throughout a whole season, it is these fine margins that could prove to be important with a small squad like ours.
