Hammer to sign new long term deal

|

Hammer Conor Coventry will sign a new long term deal at the club tomorrow @EXWHUEmployee claims tonight.

The ITK added “This is great news that we have finally tied him down as there has been a lot of decent clubs looking to sign him following his impressive performances for our under 23s and Ireland’s under 21s. Conor is likely to go on loan to a league 1 side in January with a number of decent teams interested although this isn’t finalised yet”

Coventry, who has been with the club from the age of 10, made his debut against Macclesfield Town in the EFL Cup last season.

The Republic of Ireland youth international also appeared against Newport County earlier this season.

His existing deal expires next summer and, because of his age, West Ham would only be entitled to compensation set by a tribunal.

Talks between the club and the player’s representatives were in deadlock last November with neither side willing to compromise so today’s news confirms both sides came together in the middle to agree on a new contract.

Play him against GILLINGHAM. This will be a great test. Holland and COVENTRY together we Snodgrass and Noble rested.

I’d like to see a strong side start this but agreed, if we need to rest a couple rather see the likes of Holland and Coventry play than sanchez etc.
