Hammers big loan signing set to feel the heat

Antonio

Exclusive

Michail Antonio can expect to get his West Ham call-up sooner rather than later despite Victor Moses’ impressive first outing for the Hammers against Newcastle.

The club’s board have invested heavily in a big season from Moses which could cost them almost £6 million – more if he is involved in Cup matches at around £180k a game.

And although that makes him the most expensive loan signing in the club’s history it’s Antonio who is carrying the long term faith of club insiders.

The 25 year old has taken to life at the club to the manner born and is gagging to get past Moses and into the first team as quickly as possible.

ClaretandHugh was told exclusively: “Victor has all the experience required at this stage and is a great signing but he’s not an out and out goalscorer having managed 25 in the last five seasons.

“Michael meanwhile has managed 40 in the last four – 16 of them for Forest last season and has been fantastic in training and is applying himself brilliantly.”

Moses will have to be at the top of his game if he is to keep Michail out with our sources claiming that it’s the former Forest player who is looking the pick of the new signings at Chadwell Heath.

I have a feeling the lad will debut against city.
His power and pace will frighten the life out of city !
This is getting very interesting people !!!!
City will need to be on their toes or it will be 3 points for us !
I can’t see them dictating the game , possession maybe but control no !!
Cut out kolorov and sanga and you have stopped 50% of the threat going forward,
These two are always looking to get forward and if we can expose them with our
lightening breaks we will definatly score !!!
Payet will need protecting though from the likes of fernandinio and company the pair can
    be quite cynical,
Looking forward to it big time !!!

Antonio gets a lot of his goals coming in from the left towards the left stick. He seems a bit of a far post goal poacher. So I would play him on the left wing. Put Moses on the right wing where he played for Stoke.

Let’s not get carried away ,, calm down everyone .. I’m sure Bilic is saying the same .
Don’t forget that this was our first Home win of the season ,, yes , it was against Newcastle and should be celebrated , but we lost twice to recently promoted teams .
Our style ( or , that is , Bilics style ) seems to be developing into a counter attacking system .. All very nice until it goes wrong . We applied ourselves very nicely against Newcastle , but we flirted with danger and got away with it . Every team will now be nervous about playing us because of our speed in counter attack . But we cannot rely on that tactic to keep bearing fruit . We are developing and we should’nt expect too much at this stage .
I am warming to Slaven Bilic and his methodology , but there are still gaps in our play .
Things need to calm down in midfield because players like Noble ( however hard he tries cannot play at that pace and mistakes can be fatal ) are hinge pins and important .
If we can get a result at Man City by not loseing then Bilic is definitely onto something very special for West Ham .
Just being above Chelsea & The Spuds is special enough at the moment .
    Come on you Hammers .

i would like to have a look at this guy see if he can make the step up

Agree Kev the difference between Monday and our 2 home defeats has been defensive mistakes, but we did not have Moses or Lanzini giving us people who can hold the ball up and give the defenders some rest,
Love to see the new lad but he has time and we don’t want to make to many changes at any one time,if everyone is fit I would swap Obiang with Moses or Lanzini as we are away from home but not worry if the same team started,
Sakho is a must until Carroll gets the cob webs out of his legs,

  • ironswatch says:

bub I just don’t see where Carol fit in this system we cannot play counter attacking football with him in the side the problems started last year when he came back great of the bench if we are losing and need a goal and change of system when Valancia is back he wont even make the bench
