Hammers face toughest test so far

|

West Ham face their toughest pre-season game so far when they take on Reading at the Madjeski Stadium on Wednesday evening (7pm kick off).

And with neither Declan or Tomas available for a midfield berths following their exertions at the Euros, a big interest will again be taken in under 23 prospect Conor Coventry.

The youngster has been given plenty of exposure so far with a 45 minute involvement in the opening game at Dundee and 90 minutes against Northampton Town.

Reading will represent very decent opposition at this stage having finished seventh with 70 points in the Championship last season.

With games to come against Celtic, Brentford and Atalanta we will have reached  the midway point of pre-season with Moyes clearly sorting out his thinking on the sort of squad he will take into our European year.

The biggest question of all of course is when do we see new arrivals but in the meantime some decent tests are ahead.

Reading will be strong opposition have finished seventh in the Championship last season with 70 points before beating League One Lincoln Town in their opening pre-season game.
