Reports that PAI have made a second bid for West Ham have been flatly denied by the club this evening.
A Sunday Times article quoted a PAI’s spokesperson as saying: “PAI Capital has assembled a top-tier team of respected executives … the group has carefully prepared and submitted a second innovative bid which it believes will be successful and crafts a new vision for the club, stadium and park …We hope to be able to share positive news very soon.”
However, the club have immediately denied a bid which they described as entirely phantom and continue to claim that no proof of funds was shown on the first.
They admit the group made an approach in February they say the approach was rejected and no formal bid in the legal sense was ever received.
The club refuses to be drawn into the drawn out media game being played by PAI by making their own statements either on the official site or in media of their own choosing.
A similar claim is made about proof of funds saying no formal proof of funds were ever provided and the group were not given access to a data room for two months as they claim.
Today’s story -significantly this time from a “spokesperson” rather than either Philip Beard or Tony Cottee – is the latest in a barrage of words from PAI which have olf course hyped up disgruntled West Ham fans on social media.
The owners have no interest in selling to PAI anyway considering it entirely against the club’s best interests and in the absence of a second bid and a disputed first, the group’s s odd pr campaign is again going nowhere.
Why don’t they simply make a public club statement then saying they have no intention of selling the club. Would stop all this he said, she said nonsense and any PAI bid would be dead in the water.
