Hammers get encouragement in striker chase

|

Olivier-Giroud1Olivier Giroud’s agent has opened the intriguing prospect of a possible January move for the Arsenal forward.

Giroud was a target for the Irons in the summer but made it clear he was keen to stay at the Emirates and it became clear that the Hammers was not his ideal destination anyway.

However, after starting just one Premier League game this season the Gunners hitman is now looking for regular first team football in order  to make France’s squad for the 2018 World Cup.

Everton were interested in the summer window but it is not clear whether new boss Sam Allardyce is in the market for the 31 year old.

Giroud’s agent Michael Manuello. is reported as saying: “Depending on the offers, we will sit around a table and talk. The most important thing is to know what will be offered or not this winter, to find a better project.”

Giroud has a contract with the Gunners until June 2019 and the Gunners would want around £12 million.

Looks like Danny Ings is also a strong possibility. Just find us a ‘f’inisher’ who can score from 12 yards on a regular basis!

We have one in Chicharito but he is not being provided the goal scoring chances he needs no point in getting another one until the team start providing the chances.

Agree Chic is still our top scorer in PL w 4 goals but hasn’t played a lot recently & played out of position a lot before. Now we are playing front 2 which suits him. He is a world class finisher use him. Worried this keeps on & he will won’t to leave.
I like Ings but our injuries & squad size do we really need to add another injury prone player.
If Sahko goes on Loan I guess ok but will have more suitors like Newcastle.
I’d rather go for Babacar who is similar to Giroud same height has some pace very rounded & 24. Scored yesterday. Be a hood add if we sell AC.
Don’t see Wenger letting Giroud go.

Heard this all before………Smoke & Mirrors…….It’ll never happen, as doesn’t really want to leave the Gooners.

What’s so great about Giroud .? Another flop waiting to happen imo .

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Why would we want to sign a player who would clearly only join us reluctantly? I’d rather we signed someone who showed a real desire and excitement about joining us. Giroud can rot on the Arsenal bench.

We ain’t the most attractive opportunity at the moment.
