Hammers get warning from former target

Wilfied Bony is back on West Ham’s radar but not as we might like!

Bony had been a possible target for the Irons ahead of buying Andy Carroll and was being looked at hard as a possible loan target during the summer.

In the end we dropped interest and went instead for the ineffective Simone Zaza.

Bony demonstrated last night against Swansea that he still has something to offer grabbing two goals against his former club.

And with Stoke visiting at the weekend our defenders will clearly need to keep more than a close eye on the player who  ended a barren run stretching back 23 games to Boxing Day last year.

Victory over the Swans lifted manager Mark Hughes’ outfit to 12th in the league after making a dreadful start to the campaign.

For Mark Hughes this was a third successive win, lifting his team five places to 12th and firmly banishing memories of a horror start to the campaign.
