West Ham are said to be tracking Sporting CP right-back Cristiano Piccini according to reports on Desporto in Portugal today. Spanish club Real Betis sold Piccini to Sporting CP in May this year for €3m with a percentage of the fee going to Fiorentina.
The Italian wing-back joined Betis in 2014 on-loan before signing permanently from Fiorentina in the summer of 2015. 24 year old year Piccini played 39 matches in Primera, 12 in Segunda and 7 in Copa del Rey, in which he has scored three goals and had four assists.
32 year old right back Zabaleta has signed a two year contract with West Ham but the club are on the look out for a younger right back along side Sam Byram.
