Hammers labelled second best team in London

|

Former Aston Villa player Gabby Agbonlahor has taken a swipe at Arsenal and Spurs– not only claiming that Chelsea are the biggest club in London but that West Ham have overtaken the North London clubs to become the second-best team in the capital.

Agbonlahor commenting on investment to West Ham told talkSPORT : “Why not, if I was a billionaire I’m thinking the club is in the perfect place isn’t it?

“They have got a great squad of players, a great manager at the moment, they are looking like a team that is going to keep getting into European places, looking a real good outfit now, West Ham.

“And apart from Chelsea for me they are the biggest club in London, they have overtaken Arsenal, they have overtaken Spurs – Brentford, Watford.

“They are the biggest club in London after Chelsea for sure now West Ham. Great players but they have got to now hang on to [Declan] Rice, hang on to [Michail] Antonio, hang on to [Aaron] Cresswell, these players. Hang on to them add more players into their squad now and why can’t they start looking at the top four?”

Agbonlahor is not alone with his observations, earlier this month Jamie O’Hara labelled the Hammers as the second-best team in London right now.

Before the Spurs defeat O’Hara “That is a huge game [West Ham vs Spurs],” he said on talkSPORT, as quoted.

“I watched West Ham and they were fantastic again, put Genk to the sword. I mean how good is David Moyes doing? How good is this team.

“I watch them and it’s painful to say because I’m a Spurs fan, but watching them as a player they are fantastic to watch. Mark Noble comes on, they’re bopping the ball about, they’re a joy to watch.

“Are you now the second-best team in London. Because you have to hold your hands up – not biggest, because that’s a big statement – but the best. I’d say right now they are.”

It’s hard to argue with Agbonlahor or OHara right now and long may it continue!

It will hurt Spurs and Arsenal fans because they know it is true!
