Hammers look set to miss out on top Sparta striker

|

West Ham look all set to miss out on top Sparta Prague striker Adam Hlozek this summer.

The 18 year old managed 15 goals in 27 games during an injury hit season but currently is looking set for a move to either to merseyside or the Bundesliga.

It looks increasingly unlikely  the youngster will find himself in the claret and blue this season.

Claretandhugh understands that contact has been made with Prague and that the player has been brought to manager David Moyes attention but that’s as far as its gone.

Meanwhile a leading agent told us earlier today (Tues) that Liverpool are showing more than a little interest and that there is definite interest from the German league.

Whether Moyes likes the player or not, or perhaps considers him young and unproven, is unclear but at around £30 million he looks a far better prospect than Tammy Abraham who is reportedly the West Ham manager’s first choice if he can get the price right.

We have a good relationship with Slavia Prague, not sure is it the same with Sparta ? Imho we should at least try to buy him, £30m is steep but £25 he has a lot of potential. As for Tammy, that looks unlikely and we should consider options that will see us as a step up COYI!!!

Who other than Abraham and Jesse are we actually interested in!?
Other clubs are signing players and some on Free transfers, while we are just watching the clouds go by.
Its all very well signing Academy players but we”re in a European tournament next season (soon to be this season) and we’re still no closer that we know of.
Its been 7 months since Haller left. What on earth is happening???

    Would be a terrific signing..

  • Hammerpete says:

This boy has got it (a goal scorer) and we should be after him, not Average Abraham who is proven unprolific and cannot hold his current place. If he wants Liverpool or BL then ok – but if DM is cool on him but hot on Abraham he needs help clearly strikers are not his A subject – get assistance David!

  • Keithsickofexcuses says:

Why don’t we risk the money they saved up to buy a Striker and didn’t use ? Add the money from Haller and we could afford him. Did this money suddenly disappear down a rabbit hole, that damn bunny has had a lot cash over the years.

  • Jamie Hickman says:

Quite a big list now, those who we’re ‘set to miss out on’

Come on Hugh, drop the act.
Once again attempting to throw Moyes under the bus.
Hundreds of this sites articles have been exposed on Twitter. It is nothing other than pro board propaganda.
No signings – blame the manager
    Bad signings – blame Pellegrini
No money – blame the agents and wage demands.

I notice no blame was put on Sully for not wanting to pay City compensation for the head of recruitment.
No blame on the board for being one of the only clubs in the Prem to increase kit prices.

    • Tell yer what then – it’s nobody’s fault but GSB – that alright mate!? Best to chuck them under the bus really!

    • But plenty of blame today on the way fans are being left out in the cold via technology. Do yourself a favour and be a bit more balanced. Exposed by Twotter? – what a laughh – exposed by a sewer. Don’t think so

  • Julian Woodhouse says:

I suppose the big difference is Abraham is EPL conditioned whereas Hlozek isn’t. I wouldn’t pay more than £25million for Abraham though, still a lot to prove and obviously is not rated by Chelsea.

  • Pesdahammer says:

Same story different transfer window, Club and owners are waiting for the Bargain Basement to open before trying to get a cheap loan or two at the end of the window, we qualified for Europe and having those extra games will create a tremendous ask on the already small squad that we have, Antonio can’t stay healthy for a full league season never mind the additional games, we need 2 more reliable strikers in not just 1 to score goals and to be on the field to be able to compete in all the games next season, if we don’t I fear a long and disappointing season.

  • mark wiggins says:

Shame if that’s true , Hlozek is exactly who we should be going for , but I don’t have issues with Abraham either. Hlozek , would be a terrific signing though, let’s try ⚒

  • Saul says:

Everyone goes crazy when we don’t sign players that we were ‘supposedly’ keen on. This kid is 18, he scored a bunch of goals in a poor league and yeah, he may come good in a couple of years but how many of us would give him that time to find his feet when the going gets tough this coming season? And, how many players score goals in better league’s than the Czech league and struggle in the Prem? Remember Haller? Timo Werner? Mane last season?

Let’s all just chill out. None of us had heard of Soucek and Coufal before they signed and look what they did for us.

    • ljd1980 says:

Totally agree. Anyhr8g can happen to an 18-year old kid before he becomes the real deal. 18-year holds at single-digit millions of pounds of investment seem like reasonable punts to me. But at £25m to £30m, when we need two solid experiences strikers at least, seems lunacy to me. Unless you’re Chelsea or Man City.
