Hammers Looking at Feyenoord Striker

|

West Ham United are set to reignite their interest in Feyenoord’s prolific striker Santiago Gimenez, according to reports. The 23-year-old Mexican emerged as a target for the Hammers back in January, but the club ultimately failed to bring in a new forward during the winter transfer window.

Gimenez remains a long-term target for West Ham, who are still looking to bolster their attacking options with a new striker this summer. However, the Irons face an uphill battle to secure his signature, with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal also expressing interest. Italian giants AC Milan have further complicated matters by entering the race for the in-form striker.

Gimenez himself has been in scintillating form this season, notching an impressive 24 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions. He has established himself as a key player for Feyenoord, starting in 39 of those matches. His contract was recently extended to June 2027, but his performances have inevitably attracted the attention of several top clubs.

While Gimenez is a priority target, West Ham are also exploring other options to address their lack of goalscoring options. The ageing Michail Antonio has been the main target man for the Hammers this season, but the club desperately needs to add depth and competition to their attack.
