Hammers Maguire move may not suit Man U

|

Manchester United are reported unready to force Harry Maguire – who wants to stay and fight for his place  – out of Old Trafford.

Both the Telegraph and now the mail have confirmed our story that the Hammers are ready to move in on the England central defender armed with the money from Declan Rice’s move to Arsenal.

They claim David Moyes is willing to give the 30 year old a chance of a fresh start elsewhere and that United had already spoken to the Hammers about taking some of their players in exchange for Rice earlier in the window. Maguire was not one of them and instead offered Scott McTominay and Anthony Elanga

Mail Sport is now saying that United see Maguire as an important part of the squad and will not force the England international out of Old Trafford. Along with the other players potentially up for grabs, United are happy to let them fight for their places.

West Ham are exploring a move for out-of-favour Manchester United defender Harry Maguire

However, the England central defender he only made eight Premier League starts last season and clearly slipped slipped down the pecking order under boss Erik ten Hag so claims they want to told on to him seem a tad dubious.

Maguire was signed by the Red Devils in 2019 for £80million – still the world-record fee for a defender.
