Hammers make their midfielder position clear

|

Persistent rumours that the Hammers are interested in Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama are untrue.

The Hammers have been regularly linked with the player over recent days but there is no substance to the story whatsoever.

It first arose when a website broke the ‘story’ but the Hammers have now twice denied that there is anything in the link at all.

Wanyama played against the Irons in midweek but has played just two Premier League games this season after recovering from a knee injury sustained in pre-season.

The two clubs have done absolutely no transfer business in recent years and it certainly doesn’t seem this will break that scenario.

A Hammers source said: “I’m really not sure where this one has come from but there’s nothing in it from our end. It is probably agent activity.”
