West Ham pay the price for no Director of Football | Midfielder slips through their fingers

IT May be just two weeks into the transfer season but deals are being done and West Ham United are being left behind as their competitors rebuild and prepare for the Championship season which is just a few weeks away.

Boardroom paralysis or frenetic activity behind the scenes – take your pick – both have the same result as the crucial Director of Football / Head of Recruitment role remains empty whilst Nuno’s squad needs both picking apart and reassembling ready to hit the ground running on August 16th.

ExWHUEmployee HAD claimed that one of the Hammers top midfield targets was Bobby Clark, the former Liverpool player who moved to RB Salzburg and  spent last season on loan at Derby.

Promising midfielder Bobby Clark : Snapped up by Derby

It’s a case of ‘you snooze, you lose‘ for West Ham as Derby have moved quickly to complete the permanent signing of West Ham target Clark.

On its own, the ‘loss’ of a promising youngster is tolerable: After all, there are plenty of fish in the transfer market ocean.

However as every day of paralysis continues inside West Ham’s recruitment department, opportunities to move players on are being missed and the cream of available talent for the upcoming championship battle is being picked off by competitors.

Makes you wonder how Nuno Espírito Santo is looking at his job description this summer – the Portuguese manager is supposed to ready a squad to have a decent chance of winning promotion with absolutely no idea who is leaving and who is joining – or when.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Well Frank, if you decide to ignore positive posts about Bowen, boardroom and Callum Wilson maybe staying.. and choose to focus on the one you don’t like, there’s not much to be said. Take a look at the 7pm article before you go….

With respect, how do you know? We know there have been communications with players.

Needs sorting by the board , forget any share issues/ potential investors they need to get this right . Whoever has the power right now agree to appoint a DOF head of recruitment just get going . We also need to sell Fernandes , he don’t want to stay , always going to leave . Let’s stand strong in our valuation and get the best deal ⚒
