West Ham remains in fifth place in the Premier League table this morning after a Spurs slip up as they lost to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Despite losing to reigning Premier League champions Liverpool at the London Stadium on Sunday, the Hammers still remain the highest placed London club in the top flight.
Results went West Ham’s way over the weekend with Newcastle beating Everton at Goodison Park courtesy of a brace from Callum Wilson. The Toffees dropped down to eighth place on 33 points.
West Ham face Aston Villa away on Wednesday to retain their top six status. The Hammers could drop as low as ninth if they loss and results go against them or stay in a guaranteed fifth place with a win.
Luckily every cloud has a silver lining and despite our loss, which realistically, is no shame… the spuds lost to Brighton which would have been seen as disastrous if we had been beaten by them.
We’ve now got to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off..and go again. Moyes is the man to get our players up for it against Villa and if we are honest, with the games coming as thick and fast as they have been with the size of our squad, we’ve got to accept that we will get turned over by teams like Liverpool now and again.
