Hammers still bang on course for a high five

|

The Hammers remain on target to go fifth in the Premier League should they beat Aston Villa at the London Stadium tomorrow night (Mon).

We are sitting in 10th place – down one as a result of Manchester City giving Burnley a 5-1 battering at the Etihad this afternoon.

Manchester United went above Villa after winning 3-2, coming back from being 2-0 down at half time but in reality none of the results hurt us sufficiently to stop a five place march up the table should we overcome Dean Smith’s outfit.

A win will take us above those three teams  plus Everton and Saints who, despite the defeat at St Mary’s , hold onto fifth place this evening.

However, despitebeing on 17 points whilst the Hammers are on 14 their goal difference is two worst than ours and the Hammers who are brimming with confidence after back to back wins and successive clean sheets.

A win tomorrow evening therefore is very important indeed.

I missed the second half of the Utd game, at half time I was fully expecting to hear Solskjaer was being sacked because Southampton looked like they would record an easy win. Probably better for us that they didn’t because with Pochetino in charge they would have probably been more of a threat. It would be nice to go 5th, the main thing though is to keep playing well and doing the right things consistently COYI!!!
