Haller could be on the bench

Seb Haller is thought likely to be available for action against Manchester City after returning to training this week.

The striker missed out on the 3-3 draw at Spurs after taking a knock and could even have a late fitness test ahead of the game at the London Stadium.

But backroom sources expect the Frenchman to be fit for a game which could see the irons extend their unbeaten run to four against top clubs.

Haller, despite his €45 million fee, has been unable to challenge Michail Antonio for the central striking role given the 30 year old’s stunning form since the 2019/20 season re-started.

And the hugely versatile front man has now firmly established himself as the club’s No 1 striker with 10 goals last term and two so far this term.

Haller has managed five goals this campaign but four of those came against Charlton and Hull City in the EFL Cup with the other being notched against Wolves in the Hammers 4-0 Premier League win,
