Hammers target set for Villa

idrissa-gueye-lilleWest Ham target  Lille’s Idrissa Gueye is believed to be on his way to Aston Villa according to morning reports.

It is understood he is close to clinching a £9 million move which will disappoint both the Irons and Palace who have been hunting the player.

The 25-year-old Senegalese is expected to fly in tomorrow for talks and a medical.

If he completes a move to Villa Park, Gueye would will follow Micah Richards – often linked with the Irons – into the midlands  club.

  1. Here we go again.Another target that got away.Did Villa offer more money or do the owners wait for the “specials” brochure to come out each week? anyway I’m not holding my breathe.Song & Jenkinson will come but we need more quality now Nolan is going to Bolton.

  2. Probably were never seriously in for him anyway. If we had signed every midfielder we have been linked with in the media we would have about 200 midfielders by now,lol

  3. Roman, chill out mate. There are plenty of players out there who are better than him.
to be honest we wont miss Nolan too much, the team were stronger without him last season. Lets all be upbeat, the players that have come in so far are top draw.

    • Thanks Essex I feel better now having read all the blogs.I want for so much for our club to be a success against the so called top 4.I mentioned Nolan’s name with tongue in cheek.

  4. I don’t think this bloke was genuinely on our radar and if he chose Villa it can only be for money so I’m gla……wait a minute I’m getting déjà vu lol

  5. Haha,i got bloody confused reading your comment,i kept thinking i was going back to the same story until i noticed rhe deja vu comment, lol.Seems very peaceful on here this morning.Maybe i dont need to meditate..yet 😀

    • Haha if a things worth doing once it must be worth doing twice.
All that has driven me out of the hippy commune and I’ve enlisted,I’m glad the minor skirmishes have died down, real battle commences tonight lol

  6. This is one I’m not going to get too worked up about.
We are well covered in his position now, especially if we get Song on board.
I’m more interested in the CB and striker positions, get a couple of good ones in and we are set.

  7. I quality cb & one quality forward is all i want.If another winger/attacking midfielder comes in all the better but not essential.RB will be sorted one way or another.Really want another top quality forward.I will be seriously ****ed off if they think we can rely on only Sakho & Carroll.Im sure we will buy another good striker though 😉

    • I agree, I just hope we don’t leave it to the last minute again hoping to get a loan deal.

I was hoping we’d go for Hernandez but he’s done his collar bone in now, probably still pass his medical with us though 🙂

  8. We couldn’t find the goal with compass & a map last season. Need more strikers & defo strengthen the back line. One that can defend for the whole 90 minutes. 😀

  9. Day 1 of the transfer window and we are being told we are loosing targets,
There are plenty of good players out there that will fill our needs,
I think most of the named targets are smokescreen stop hide the real targets,
We are only going to buy 3 or 4 more player and then look for a couple of freebies,
Taking Song and Jenkinson are 2 deals that look nearly done that does not leave many more to come in

  10. I think the difference will be it won’t be our intention to defend for 90 mins unlike the previous tactic

  11. Agree there bubs, so many players are linked to us. Any player that there might be a slight chance of moving anywhere, West Ham get linked because we are looking to strengthen the squad. Most players have half the premier league linked.

  12. We would have had a strong midfield with all these players the media have linked with us.If a player wants to move to Villa he clearly has little ambition in the game, just chasing the dough 😉

  13. Dont need him anyway. If he want to go to Villa good luck to him.He can be the only Gueye in the village up there 😀

  14. If they are buying him where is Delph going ?
Or are they shipping Grelish out after his Hols ?
