Hammers Ward-Prowse talks continue

|

West Ham are  still in talks with Southampton for James Ward-Prowse.

And the manager has now become aware that the player is keen on the move and is busy trying to reach a compromise on price with the relegated Saints.

Ward-Prowse may even become the new skipper should the move go through but thus far we have stuck to the £25 million offer made a few days back.

The 28 year old has captained the Saints for many years and with no natural replacement within the squad for Declan Rice he could easily become the next player to wear the claret and blue armband.

But before any of that happens the Irons have to arrive at price which is reasonable for  a player of his age as explained to us exclusively by our major source.

He said: We are in talks but have to bring down the price to a sensible level for a 28 year old.”

This doesn’t excite me at all, neither does the Man Utd pair. All very average players. Seems moysie wants to sign British players proven in the premier league. Which I can kind of understand considering his disaster at blending in players from foreign leagues last season, which is down to poor management and signing these players too late to use in pre season. We just won a European trophy, got global recognition from it, have well over £100m to spend and it doesn’t feel like we building on that success. Teams like Man City, arsenal and Liverpool got their business done well early which is part of why they are successful. If we don’t act fast we could be heading into the same disaster as last season.

Time to sack Moyes, huge rumours now appearing on social media that he is refusing to align with the transfer strategy of the new DOF. He has to be sacked before he invests the DR money poorly. The new DOF has a list of players who have the potential to grow in the PL, will excite the fans and bring future value to the club. Moyes signings are the complete opposite. Anyone who thinks Mctominnay is worth 40m plus, who thinks WP is worth 35m plus and Gallagher 45m plus are simply not looking after west ham interests. We will never sell Mctomminay, WP for anywhere near these values when they fail. It is very likely we could lose 25m on Mctomminay, 20m on wp and 20m on gallagher. Terrible investments..And furthermore players like Aguerd, Paqueta will all leave. To the board back the new DOF at all costs let him do his job.

Buy from the EFL, like Antonio, Bowen Downes. We could’ve got Sabitzer now he’s at Dortmund. Stop spending silly money! We also have 2 or 3 potential youths to promote, at least. DM needs a great season to get a new deal- personally, as it stands, I’d let him walk next summer. Prove us wrong, Dave. COYI

James W-P is just not worth 40m. His age and lack of pace/strength go against his free kick plus, and he will only deteriorate now and have no resale value. Maguire is in the same category at 45m. Moyes should be embarrassed to be showing any interest in these. McTom is not a good choice either but at least he is 26, but what does he offer? The Dec Dosh is not safe with Moyes.
