Hammers work on models for maximum fans return

|

Claret and Hugh has learned that West Ham are working on three different models to get supporters back into the London Stadium in October.

The government have announced that some supporters can return to stadia from 3rd October but West Ham don’t have a home game scheduled until 24th October against Manchester City.

The London Stadium has the advantage of having 66,000 wider seats and wide open airy concourses allowing which will make one metre social distancing easier than many other Premier League stadia.

Having multiple turnstiles and transport links and being in the middle of a park is also to the London Stadium’s advantage when it comes to social distancing.

The club have designed three different models to allow for the absolute  maximum return of season ticket holders come October. The final model will be subject to approval by the Newham council led Safety Advisory Group in the run to October.

The club are keeping the actual percentages they have a closely guarded secret at the moment but estimates range from 15% to 35% of available seats.

If they allowed standing bubbles on the concourse and on the covered running track we could probably get closer to capacity.

Seems like an ideal opportunity to test how standing can work as part of a complete solution.
