What is it with Harry Redknapp?
He has used his story about Bobby Moore being asked to leave West Ham 36 years ago over and over again – once in one of his numerous books and also at various times as a stick with which to beat the Irons.
His story goes like this: “He (Mooro) didn’t want to cause a big commotion walking through the crowd or hanging around before the game so he would wait until after kick-off, go up to one of the old turnstiles with the wooden doors and knock. ”
Later the same geezer, allegedly directed by the club secretary, asked Mooro if he had a ticket. Replying that he hadn’t he was told he would have to leave.”
Once again Redknapp dredges the story up as we look to honour Mooro on film via “Bobby” to be released late in May.
Now let me repeat my view on this: Bob didn’t feel it should be revealed publicly so why does Redknapp do so?
Bob had dignity, class and style which reached way beyond his clothes. As I have said many times in many articles I never heard the man say a bad word about anybody – it’s a shame Harry didn’t learn the same from a man whom he claims was one of his best mates.
Let me put this as politely as I can: JUST SHUT THE HELL UP HARRY AND REMEMBER THE BEST OF BOB – LIKE THE REST OF US.
That is after all what this film is supposed to be about.
Well said.
Compare with the reticence of Billy Bonds over the circumstances of his departure as manager. Redknapp simply speaks for the sake of speaking (or selling a book or justifying a media appearance). I am fed up with hearing this story being recycled. I am sure there were many stars of yesteryear who were treated poorly but hopefully going forward West Ham are/ will address this.
Funny it’s the first time I have seen the words Harry & class in the same sentence
Why dont you please SHUT THE F##K UP Redknapp.. go back & read ur 1st autobiography where you praise the club over the great man. You became WHU manager only a year after he died. How hard did you push the club to reconise him during ur time at the club??
you have had the honor of playing with him so remember him for that.
Perhaps don’t give him or the story the attention he craves
I have the same philosophy about Banjo as well. But then I think we better show him some attention or you would be out of a job 647580.You wouldn’t have anything to report back to him about!!!
LOL….that made me chuckle 😉
All ment in jest Percy the Pidge 🙂
Lol Billy.The Carrier Pigeon 😀
