Claret & Hugh West Ham Exclusive

As West Ham prepare to face Manchester City this weekend, Claret & Hugh have received a robust backing of Hammers boss Nuno Espírito Santo.

Rumours began circulating on Tuesday evening suggesting the West Ham board were considering replacing the Portuguese manager after becoming frustrated with a lack of points. The reports claimed there was regret over his appointment and that a change could be imminent.

Club Source Rubbishes Claims

This morning, Claret & Hugh spoke to a reliable club insider who, unusually, used some fairly industrial language to dismiss the story. In the interests of keeping things family-friendly, we’ll simply report that the source said:

“That’s absolute Horlicks — where do they get this stuff from?”

For the record, West Ham fully back Espírito Santo and he is expected to be supported in the transfer window.

Popular Figure on the Training Ground

A separate training-ground source has also confirmed that the former Wolves and Nottingham Forest boss is extremely popular behind the scenes. Preparations ahead of the trip to Manchester City are said to have gone well, with spirits positive despite recent results.

Espírito Santo is expected to remain at West Ham for the remainder of the season — and beyond.

Hopefully, that finally puts an end to those rumours.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

I am glad to hear that Nuno is going no where
He will do a terrific job if given the chance to sort out the mess the previous managers and the owners now have made such a diabolical mess of the players purchased
Leave Nuno to select the young players he wants not past it players on the cheap or want stupidly high wages

  • MJ says:

To be fair a manager that was a cross between Jesus and Brian Clough would struggle to get us to hold onto a lead at the moment.

  • John simmonds says:

They could put Pep in charge over there and he’d do no better. Until the barrow boy and lady muck are gone we are staying in this agonising spiral of rank mediocrity

“Board come out fighting” well there’s a first! Let’s face it, the fans are the only one’s they feel comfortable “fighting ” what an absolute circus this club has become, 60 years supporting and I have never been so disillusioned and disappointed, don’t suppose they could replace him with any quality anyway, who in their right mind would want to come here and work for such self serving egotists? 🙏🏻🤔

  • Mike says:

Good, but then they issued a 1300 word statement not long back telling us Potter was the future, so consistency not exactly a strong point is it?

  • Rob says:

Well he seems to be moving the club in the right direction so why would you look to make a change. Someone is looking to cause mischief?

  • Ray Stewart’s Right Peg says:

I think it all comes from the fact he has less points than either Potter or Lopetegui, after same number of games.

  • Zahama says:

I believe that Nuno gives us a chance – the damage has been done by firstly appointing Tim Steidten who failed to work with either Moyes or Lopetegui and has left us saddled with misfits like Fullkrug and Guillerme. This was compounded by first appointing Loppy and then appointing Potter

The rest of the season will be tense – we have to make sure we get the extra 7 or 8 wins plus a few draws

Perhaps we can get a park the bus 0-0 at the Etihad (remember BFS did it against Mourinho at the Bridge)

Yes us long suffering fans deserve better – but its not going to happen this season

Tbh I’m not sure were you see this stuff that Nuno was under pressure. I can say I’ve not seen it anywhere. ( unless your on X which if you believe the stuff on there then your not wired up right) massive headline but little substance

    • Gonzo says:

It was a very high profile ITK which was then picked up by quite a few outlets.

I’ve not linked it because I believe the information to be false and unhelpful, hence the reason for debunking the story. But I can assure you, the same source has run the story three times and he has a big enough following that it gains traction.
