How we rated the Irons at Spurs

|

Hugh hands out his marks

Fabianski: Couple of top saves and the usual steady Eddie performance 7

Fredericks: Didn’t miss the over-rated Ngakia – looked fit enough despite reservations in that area 6

Diop: Decent performance without coming under intense pressure 6

Balbuena: Didn’t look 100 per cent fit but let nobody down 6

Cresswell: Ok defensively and always trying to get it into the box when gong forward 5

Soucek: Own goal from a corner and quiet generally 4.5

Rice: Top performance again. We expect nothing else now Great ball for Antonio chance and always on the move 7.5

Noble: Very poor – continually giving ball away. Two games in four days at 33 is a big ask – felt for him 3

Bowen: Very good performance, always on the move trying to make stuff happen, hit the post and put in a genuine shift front and back 8

Fornals: Energetic and always on the move but no serious impact and missed another great chance 4.5

Antonio: No opportunity to make a real impact with so little service. 10/10 for effort but in reality 5

Subs:

Anderson: Same old same old nothing 1

Lanzini: Is this a twin brother

Ngakia WILL become a better player than Fredericks is now. That I am sure of.

  • Doomed , were doooomed I tell yeh capn Mainwaring!!!!!

  • kcockayne says:

Only a one for Anderson ? I reckon that he was twice as good as that !

    • blimey! says:

1 is a bit harsh on both the subs, as they came on too late, the rest of the team looked shattered …..

Maybe it was an opportunity to give the rest of the squad to have a run out, like Wilshere, Brown, Yarmolenko and Silva, players who will be needed over the coming weeks…

I don’t know what you are looking at but to give Fredericks a 6 and Antonio a 5 is just not correct. Antonio firstly was worth far more than a 5 and as for Fredericks will he has no football IQ. Moyes picked a decent team but as always his tactical ability during a game was shocking. Fredericks needs to be dropped and Johnson needs to start no matter how fit he is. We need to start playing 2 up so lets go to 3 at the back. Team for next day has to be on these lines Fab, Diop, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Johnson and Cresswell or Masa, Soucek and Rice in midfield, Bowen in behind Antonio and Haller. If Haller is not fit then play Bowen up top with Lanzini as the 10.

Appalling display . Noble proved yet again that the premiership has passed him by . He is so slow he has time to gift wrap the ball before he gives it away . We could have played for 3 hours and not scored . We have very little to lose so where is Silva who has an eye for goal . Anderson has given up . Fornals is not good enough and Antonio is wasted through the middle . Moyes has not got a clue . Same old same old with no imagination . There is no leaderdship from manager and captain . Give Rice the armband and let him loose . He can lead by example and is the first name on the teamsheet .

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

None of the players look good in this defensive formation. If you want Anderson to look better play a possession game except with more purpose. Moyes needs to go as does every referee in the English game, they are all zeroes.

  • Zahama says:

Give Rice the armband – deja vue (I hope not) – a young Joe Cole took the armband and played his heart out but we still went down and he was sold to Chelsea
