How we rated the Irons v Leicester

|

Hugh hands out the marks

Fabianski: Several outstanding saves and real presence but wish he would distribute from hands rather than give it the boot when with only nine in front of him  it kept coming back 8

Zaba: Continues to roll back the years with some great defending against younger and faster players. Huge admirer of the guy 7

Diop: Several amazing interventions – all perfectly timed. Whoever was responsible for finding him needs a very special mention 8

Balbuena: Scored the goal and was outanding as the Foxes threw it all at us in the second half 8

Masuaku: Attended to his defensive duties better  today and got forward with real menace at times 7

Noble: Disastrous afternoon for the skipper when a reckless, dangerous and unnecessary challenge saw him sent off. Wasn’t that great before he left the action  3

Rice: Awesome stuff from the young man. Bossed midfield with enormous composure and calm on a day when it would have been entirely possible for everybody to lose their cool 9

Snodgrass: Admirable, always looking to make things happen and had a couple of real self-made chances. Top performance 8

Diangana: Won the free kick which led to the goal and was always busy and making his presence felt. Produced a fabulous piece of defending but then played a dangerous lazy pass at the end of it 7

Anderson: Bitterly disappointing again. The free kick apart he offered little and many attacks broke down on him when he simply tried to take on too many and invariably gave the ball away. There has to be more for £35m surely 4

Chicharito: Once again little to come from the Mexican and he was subbed after an hour for Antonio 4

Subs: Cresswell (Diangana) Did okay when called on to tighten things up towards the end 5

Antonio: Missed a great chance but tireless running kept the pressure off a little at times 6

Ogbonna: Might well of scored with a header when arriving 10 minutes from the end 5
